Bandy Lee, MD is a clinical professor of law and psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. She organized a conference held at Yale University last year held to look into the mental health of President Trump. The conference led to publication of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President a book that presents a consensus view that Trump’s mental state presents a clear and present danger to our nation and individual well-being. Lee also addresses the Goldwater Rule which prevents psychiatrists from publicly diagnosing the president. Lee says the APA has expanded the Rule without discussion to prevent public comment by psychiatrists on President Donald Trumps mental capacity.
