Host Jim Vrettos discusses the groundbreaking community organizing and activism of Jim Dunn — founder of the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond and H.U.M.A.N. — Help Us Make A Nation. He will discuss Jim’s support for Eddie Carthan, who in 1977 became the first Black mayor since Reconstruction in Tchula, Mississippi. Jim Dunn’s wife Diana, co-founder of the Institute Ron Chisum, and political activist Shelia Collins, who’s completing a book on Eddie Carthan and one of the leaders of the Free Eddie Carthan Campaign, will join in the discussion.
