Leid Stories—Trump Shows No Interest, Leadership in Puerto Rico’s Humanitarian Disaster—09.26.17

Taking only a few moments away from his catalog of NFL tweets, President Donald Trump finally got around to responding to the massive humanitarian crisis unfolding in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria shredded the island Sept. 20.

In an 8:45 p.m. tweet last night, Trump responded to the humanitarian crisis affecting Puerto Rico’s 3.4 million people. “… It’s an old electrical grid, which was in terrible shape. Was devastated. Much of the island was destroyed, with billions of dollars owed to Wall Street and the banks which, sadly, must be dealt with. Food, water and medical are top priorities—and doing well.”

What? Leid Stories calls Trump out on his Hurricane Katrina-like response to a pressing problem.
