Laura Cunningham and Kevin Emmerich. She is an artist-naturalist, author, and biologist. He is a biologist and former National Park ranger. They co-founded a conservation organization, Basin and Range Watch that works toward preserving the last non-destroyed regions of California and Nevada deserts.
