NJ Coalition For Vaccination Choice Press Release (3/11/15): It is very likely that S1147, a bill that will limits and/or removes the use of religious exemptions in NJ, will come before the full Senate on Monday, March 16, 2015.Â
We need everyone to call their State Senator to ask them to VOTE NO or ABSTAIN on this bill.Â
S1147 attacks religious freedoms , is likely unconstitutional and will lead to discrimination and harassment. Â (currently only 9,000 families or 1.7% of the school population claim a religious exemption, this is hardly reason to pass this invasive legislation)

We strongly oppose S1147 because many families who possess or are seeking a religious exemption to vaccination might find their exemption unacceptably challenged or rejected. S1147 requires parents to obtain notary services, and possibly legal services, to fulfill its requirements. People of faith who currently have a religious exemption may face rejection of their exemption and find their children expelled from school without proper notice. This bill, if passed into law, will create an unnecessary hardship for your constituents.
