Glen Ford – The Democratic Road to Black Ruin – From The Black Agenda Radio Show (Monday @ 11am EST)

Democratic Party operatives claim that Blacks are voting “strategically” when they support the corporate warmonger Hillary Clinton for president. The reality is, Blacks believe only Clinton has the money and organization to beat the White Man’s Party – the GOP. But, only two outcomes are possible from such a “strategy”: “either the triumph of the White Man’s Party, or electoral victory for Black people’s worst enemies among the Democrats.”

Alternative Visions – Krugman and Neoliberal Economist Attacks on Sanders’ Programs – 03.25.16

Dr. Jack Rasmus explains how his version of a Financial Transaction Tax on stocks, bonds, derivatives, and currencies could raise far more than sufficient revenues to pay for a single payer-national health care program and still leave hundreds of billions to expand social security Medicare and other programs. In the second half of the show, Rasmus shows how a single payer system would save $1.2 trillion a year out of the current health care cost of $3 trillion today. Based on a tax study done in Europe in 2013, Rasmus shows a US financial tax of 5% on stocks & bond trades, a 1% tax on derivatives sold in the US, and 1% on non-government US currency sales raises $3.89 trillion a year, or about twice the revenues needed for a comparative single payer system. Rasmus then reviews and debunks the debates by neoliberal economists like Paul Krugman, and Clinton’s ‘gang of four’ economists, who have been attacking Sanders’ proposals for a financial tax and single payer health care. In the first half of the show, reviewing recent events in the global economy Rasmus addresses the fallout from the European Central Bank’s recent decision to expand its quantitative easing and negative interest rate programs and why they will fail; the growing default risk in the US energy junk bond markets; the preliminary agreements by Russia, Saudi Arabia and others to freeze oil prices; China’s continuing desperate moves to deal with the massive bad corporate debt problem; French retreats on introducing labor market reforms in response to mass demonstrations: the doubling in average prescription drug prices in the US: and why millennials (age 25-34) in the US now earn take home pay today in 2016 less than they did in 1984.

The Gary Null Show – 03.25.16

Andrew Harvey is an internationally renowned religious scholar, writer, teacher, and author of over thirty books. He is the founder of the Institute of Sacred Activism, an international organization dedicated to inspiring people to become more involved in challenging our social and global crises and to commit themselves to peace and sustainability. Andrew was born in India and studied and taught at Oxford University where he was the university’s youngest fellow at age 21 teaching Shakespeare and French literature. He is perhaps best known for having explored all the different religions in depth and has reinterpreted them in a passionate manner that preserves their meaning and significance for our own time. In 1993, BBC featured him in a documentary “The Making of a Modern Mystic.” Andrew has received many awards for his writings including the Benjamin Franklin Award. Among his many books are “The Hope: A Guide To Sacred Activism” which won the Nautilus Silver Award for Social Change, and more recently “Play Life More Beautifully: Conversations with Seymour,” which recounts his friendship with the renowned American pianist and composer Seymour Bernstein. Energy Stew – Ellen Goldberg and Dorian Bergen – 03.25.16

There are so many ways we can quickly assess someone’s personality by glancing at their hands. Once you learn this, it’s hard not to look. A wonderful new, comprehensive book has come out that’s very easy to read and holds your attention. Ellen Goldberg and Dorian Bergen have written a very accessible and wonderfully illustrated book of hand reading, “The Art and Science of Hand Reading, Classical Methods for Self-Discovery through Palmistry”.

In this interview, you’ll have an exciting and educational experience of their knowledge and joy about this very insightful world of your hands. Make sure you have your hands available as you listen to the show because you’ll learn a lot about yourself. Of course I’m going to wear mittens for this interview and become inscrutable. (just kidding) They love what they do and will make this half hour a lot of fun. Don’t miss it!!

Expat Files – 03.25.16

-Business Banking in Latin America-and how to protect your assets once you get started:
However bad your Spanish is, once in Latin America you will soon start seeing all kinds of business opportunities. Once you’ve found your business “niche” (to me that means no GRINGO competition) you’ll need to have an internet presence and a bank account. That said, how do you select a solid offshore bank for your business accounts(s) that won’t be sucking up to the US govt. and the 1st world legal system?

-Chinese food lovers? You’ve got a big problem if you live in Latin America:

-What will happen to small businesses in Latin America after the US and the rest of the 1st world outlaw the use of CASH?

-The trouble with Pay Pal In Latin America:
Yes they have PP in Latin American, but it’s not such a great deal for businesses and retail providers. Sure, consumers like it but sellers hate it and here’s why…

-Text message overload (in Spanish): If you’ve got a cheap cellphone, get ready for some constant text message aggravation- in Spanish. What’s that all about?

– Naked Sim Cards: Millions of Latins use them… and so do smart Expat Gringos

-The proliferating Latin American cell phone extortion racket: Though this stuff rarely happens to gringos(except in Mexico) here’s a dirty little secret you’ve just got to hear…

– Latin TV, in a word, simply SUCKS!!!:
Yes, Latins love everything gringo and 1st world, even if it’s useless over-hyped Ron Popeil junk like Ginzu Knives, Ab Crunchers, Chia-pets and Buns of Steel. That said, slick Latin TV ad people have discovered the “Gringo Advantage”. As long as anything is promoted on TV as a genuine US product, it undoubtedly becomes a hit. So what’s the latest “As Seen on TV” mega-fad gimmick? …..well, it’s a thick Velcro corset that promises to suck in tummy flab and promote an instant hourglass shape. They’re so popular they can’t keep those stupid things in stock! What’s that say about the overweight and obesity problem in Latin America? (sound familiar?)
