#1- Things change when Expats find out they can afford maids, gardeners , maintenance men, cooks, pool guys and even drivers. Some gringos, who were quite used to being on their first-world treadmills, suddenly get bored. That said, gringos who don’t stay active can end up with substance abuse as their hobby. Today we discuss that problem.
#2- Expat Eddie’s back on the radar again and this time he’s gotten in a jam- a three car accident on the Pan American Highway. Today we tell that “boots on the ground” story. Thankfully no one was hurt -but Eddie and the guy who rear ended him were well over the legal limit. Eddie’s 1.2 blood level alcohol would have caused him a world of trouble in the USA, so what happened in this case? What should Expats do after a car accident? Know that there are quite a number of differences in the insurance plans and coverage down here versus auto policies in the USA. So today we go through a typical full coverage policy for a new car and point what you really should be aware of (but certainly aren’t because almost no one is).
