Obama’s and Trump’s Militarization of Space
Bruce Gagnon is the Coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space and the co-founder of the Global Network. For over three decades he has focused on the militarization of space and organized Florida’s largest peace demonstration in opposition of the first test flight of the Trident 2 nuclear missile at Cape Canaveral. Several of his investigative reports have been recognized by Project Censored as the most censored stories during their respective years. In 2006 he received the Dr. Benjamin Spock Peacemaker Award. More recently Bruce has built support for the Jeju Island off of South Korea in opposition to the US’s construction of a Navy base, which was featured in the documentary film Ghosts of Jeju, and has been going head to head against General Dynamics at the Bath Maine site that buildings war ships. His articles have appeared in the Earth Island Journal, Counterpunch, Asia Times, Commondreams, Space News and many other publications, and he is a co-author with Noam Chomsky and John Pilger of the recent book “Voices for Peace: War, Resistance, and America’s Quest for Full-spectrum Dominance.” His website is Space4Peace.org
