The future of Light therapy — or Photobiomodulation — for treating disease and illness
Dr. Len Saputo is a board certified physician in internal medicine and the Founder and Medical Director of Health Medicine Foundation, a nonprofit education foundation promoting an integrative medical system of wellness into clinical practice. For 30 years he also has a private practice in affiliation with the John Muir Medical Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been practicing medicine since 1965 after graduating from Duke University’s medical school. Len has co-authored and edited six books on complementary and alternative medicine. His last book was “A Return to Healing: Radical Health Care Reform and the Future of Medicine” which won the Nautilus Gold Award which critiques the dominant conventional medical establishment and paradigm, its dismal failures, and what an integral approach to healing can provide to make medicine more humane, healthy and sustainable. More recently he has been deeply involved with research in light therapy, funded by the National Institutes of Health through the University of California at San Francisco.
