On today’s Heart Of Mind Radio, host Kathryn Davis features a talk with Eleanor Larrier, the Chief Executive Officer of Bronx Community Health Network, an organization that connects people with affordable, high quality health care and promotes healthy living for a discussion on a variety of active health programs in the Bronx including the Bronx Reach Champs Saturday Meditation and physical fitness programs.

Eleanor Larrier was born in Barbados and has lived most of her life in the Bronx since arriving in New York City. After graduating from Hunter College, she taught junior high school students in Manhattan and the Bronx before switching to a career in health planning and administration. Eleanor is a skilled planner, administrator and team builder, with multi-faceted health care experience ranging from organizational and program development, facilities planning and administration of hospital acute and ambulatory care services. She served as Associate Executive Director, successively, for the Departments of Planning, Clinical Inpatient Care Services and Ambulatory Care at Harlem Hospital Center, NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation. Currently, she is chief executive officer of Bronx Community Health Network, an organization that connects people with affordable, high quality health care and promotes healthy living. Eleanor received an MPA Degree in Health Policy, Planning and Administration from New York University, Wagner School of Public Service. She is a member of the Advisory Committee for Lehman College’s Graduate Program in Public Health.
As member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Bronx, she is an active Episcopal Church Woman, and has served as Sunday school teacher, vestry member and founder/director of (the now inactive) Cultural Expressions through Dance Music Art. This dynamic program for children teaches respect and understanding for all people through these media. Eleanor is the mother of Khalil Forde and wife of Trevor Puesey. She loves travelling, reading and swimming and welcomes opportunities to share her skills outside of the healthcare arena.
