Cherie Calbom is celebrated globally as “The Juice Lady,” and a trailblazer in whole-food nutrition as one of the revolutionaries of the juicing craze. Cherie earned her Masters Degree in Nutrition at Bastyr University over 25 years ago. Her most recent search in nutrition has been about how seed oils have been damaging American health since the 1940’s right after WWII. Seed oil companies like canola oil, rapeseed oil, safflower, vegetable oil often gotten at the time from cotton seed oil that was really used to clean machinery was cleaned up at one point for public use and convince the public it was nutritious vegetable oil good for cooking. Cherie really supports the use of natural fats to get our health back on track. Which had not been a problem in our diet decades prior. It was only when the seed oils took over our food supply, did we start seeing an increase in heart attacks, obesity, fibromyalgia, and other forms of immune problems, basically through marketing. One of the more astonishing things is to discover often our food labels by the FDA according to a medical doctor at Harvard, will allow companies to say on their label: No trans fats. when it had been confirmed there were a tiny bit in each oil, plus these seeds are broken down with Hexane and no mention of that is made to the public; and there is no guarantee that hexane is totally gone by the time we ingest it in the product we’ve bought off the shelf..
