Leid Stories - 11.24.21

Here’s what’s on Leid Stories today:

The jury is hearing the case against three white men charged with chasing down and killing 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery, who they saw jogging through their Satilla Shores neighborhood in Brunswick, Georgia,on Feb. 23 last year and thought he looked “suspicious.”

The men–Gregory McMichael, 65; his son Travis, 34; and William Bryon, 52– faced nine counts each at trial–including for malice murder; felony murder (four counts); aggravated assault (two counts); false imprisonment; and criminal intent to commit false imprisonment.

The question today:

Only one person on the 12-member jury is black. Could this affect deliberations amd/or the outcome of the trial?
