Andrew Hoffman – The limits of intellectual reason in our understanding of the natural world

Ability to see the cultural value of wilderness boils down, in the last analysis, to a question of intellectual humility. Author and conservationist Aldo Leopold wrote these words in 1949, and they are all the more important today. As we enter the 21st century and today’s children look forward to living in the 22nd, this lack of intellectual humility is harming us …

JOE ROMM – Almost Everything You Know About Climate Change Solutions Is Outdated, Part 1

Almost everything you know about climate change solutions is outdated, for several reasons. First, climate science and climate politics have been moving unexpectedly quickly toward a broad consensus that we need to keep total human-caused global warming as far as possible below 2°C (3.6°F) — and ideally to no more than 1.5°C. This has truly revolutionary implications for climate solutions …

Catherine J. Frompovich – There’s A Plan For Human Population Control – Is It Vaccines?

Is there a concentrated plan actively in place to reduce the human population on Planet Earth?  What a question to ask! However, according to a March 2016 paper by Kevin Galalae published in the journal Epidemiology: Open Access titled “Turning Nature against Man: The Role of Pandemics, Vaccines and Genetics in the UN’s Plan to Halt Population Growth” [1], Galalae sets out …

Derrick Jensen has become one of the nation’s leading voices of cultural and environmental dissent, who writes on how civilization is devastating the environment and the natural world, and our society’s denial of that fact. Utne Reader listed Derrick among the 50 visionaries changing the world. In sharp contrast to environmental optimists who believe working within the corporate system will offset the tenuous planetary balance threatened by climate change, Derrick has advocated for many years a “dismantling of civilization” which can include radical dissent as well as imparting wisdom to our children.

Derrick has written many books including “The Derrick Jensen Reader: Writings on Environmental Revolution” and his forthcoming “The Myth of Human Supremacy” will be released next month. He also hosts a weekly radio program, Resistance Radio, on the Progressive Radio Network every Sunday evening at 6:00 pm Eastern time. His website is www.DerrickJensen.org

The Inquisition Redux – ROBERT HUNZIKER

Throughout history few people gain the recognition to become part of humanity’s everyday lexicon, especially if they commit heresy. Indeed, Galileo, whose name rhymes with grade school learning, suffered ridicule at the hands of the world’s highest authorities in the 17th century. But, nowadays Galileo is a hero. Arguably, Dr. James Hansen is today’s Galileo. The Inquisition still stands tall. …

The oceans are under fire from almost uncountable ills, including rampant overfishing, ocean acidification, plastics pollution, oil spills, and ocean dumping, to name a few. But although the challenges are humbling, there are some activists who …
