Nagomba E. is no longer young; her hip is giving her trouble and her back is stooped from years of bending over her corn and rice fields. Yet every morning, at the crack of dawn, the wiry 74-year-old sets out on a strenuous half-hour walk to fetch water from a nearby river so that her ailing husband can take a …
Dr. David Suzuki – The Planet’s Most Dangerous Predator Is Us
Humans are the world’s top predator. The way we fulfill this role is often mired in controversy, from factory farming to trophy hunting to predator control. The latter is the process governments use to kill carnivores like wolves, coyotes and cougars to stop them from hunting threatened species like caribou—even though human activity is the root cause of caribou’s decline. Predation is an important natural function. But …
Resistance Radio – Dominic DiPaolo – 09.11.16
Dominic DiPaolo is a field botanist and vegetation ecologist who lives and works in the Klamath-Siskiyou region of southwest Oregon and northern California. For the past fifteen years he has studied the ecology and history of the forests, woodlands, shrub lands and grasslands of this diverse and complex region as well as gotten to know as many of its non-human inhabitants as possible. He has recently published work on the historical vegetation of the Applegate Valley in Oregon and is currently developing vegetation cover maps for Crater Lake National Park and Lava Beds National Monument. Today we talk about some of the excuses used by the timber industry, the government, and “environmental organizations” like The Nature Conservancy to facilitate deforestation.

Resistance Radio – Stephany Seay – 08.30.15
Stephany Seay is the media coordinator with the Montana-based Buffalo Field Campaign, the only group working in the field, in the courts, and in the policy arena in defense of the country’s last wild migratory buffalo, the Yellowstone population. Stephany has been on the front lines with BFC for twelve years and from the direct interactions and experiences with these gentle giants, she and her comrades have come to the understanding that while we may be trying (very, very hard) to save the buffalo, the buffalo are desperately trying to teach us to save us from ourselves.
Yellowstone Earthquakes Reveal a Volcanic System Six Times Bigger Than We Thought
They have determined a deeper and much larger zone of hot rock acting as a feeder to the active reservoir capable of erupting. The original event for this volcanic plume was well to the west and produced a huge basaltic lave flow that covered a vast amount of country. If as and when Yellowstone were to erupt, we can expect …
