The power and control of secretive autonomous and unaccountable national security elites over the nation’s decision-making regarding war and peace, with Caroline Fredrickson

Caroline Fredrickson is the president of the American Constitution Society and a leader in the progressive movement dealing with civil and voting rights, labor law, marriage equality, women’s issues and anti-discrimination.  She is also a senior fellow at Demos and earlier was the director of the ACLU’s Washington legislative office and general counsel and legal director for NARAL Pro-Choice America. In the past Caroline has worked on the Congressional Hill as the chief of staff for Senator Maria Cantwell and deputy chief of staff for Senate leader Tom Daschle. She has a BA in Russian and East European studies from Yale and a JD from Columbia University Law School. Caroline is the author of “Under the Bus: How Workin Women are Being Run Over” which looks at the racist history that has led to today’s inequality of employment among American women and has made the US one of the worst nations in the developed world in protecting legal protections for women in the work place and in society.
