America’s Frackopoly – hydrofrackings dangers and why it continues to be popular

Wenonah Hauter is the Executive Director of Food and Water Watch, a non profit organization based in Washington DC campaigning for clean health food, safe water and sustainable energy. In addition to being one of the nation’s leading health food advocates, she also owns and operates and organic farm in the Virginia mountains. Prior to taking charge of Food and Water Watch, Wenonah served as the Director of Public Citizen’s Energy and Environmental Program, was the environmental policy director of Citizen Action, and was a senior organizer for Union of Concerned Scientists. Her recent book – “Frackopoly: The Battle For the Future of Energy and the Environment” – provides a concise history into the origins, technology and consequences of hydraulic fracking for natural gas and the powerful interest groups and corporations that enable fracking to continue to destroy and contaminate our environment.  Her websites are  WenonahHauter.org and FoodAndWaterWatch.org
