Leid Stories – Election 2016: Super Tuesday Fallout: WWBD? – 03.16.16

No surprise, really, in how things turned out yesterday–Donald Trump triumphed in three of five states, Florida, Illinois and North Carolina; Marco Rubio lost his own state and ended his campaign; Ted Cruz remained win less but is hoping to capture Rubio’s supporters in a long shot bid to remain in the race; and John Kasich scored his first victory, his home state of Ohio.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton bested her lone opponent, Bernie Sanders, in four states—Florida, Illinois, Ohio and North Carolina—with the final vote in Missouri too close to call.

As Leid Stories said yesterday, Super Tuesday “more than likely will cause a whittling of the GOP’s four-man slate, and on the Democratic side, a locked lead on being the nominee.” With Clinton appearing to have that locked lead on the Democratic nomination, the question becomes: “What Will Bernie Do?”

Trends This Week – Trump trumps the rich, zero interest rates and your future – 03.16.16

Donald Trump’s victory night speech about how “we” need the rich in America to make the country “great again” underscores how far “we” have sunk. Global forecaster Gerald Celente puts it all in perspective: The absence of grace, dignity and self respect thrives in a culture where the rich get richer at the expense of the vast majority. And Trump exemplifies that. In the Presidential Reality Show, however, there are no good options. Elsewhere, Celente dissects the zero-interest rate reality bearing down on developed nations – why this is happening, how it will evolve and what it means to you. Our future is being robbed from us! The bankers have murdered Wall Street, and Main Street suffers the most.

Progressive Commentary Hour – 03.15.16

James and Joanne Moriarty were successful business persons living in Libya from 2007 until the overthrow and death of General Muammar Ghadafi in 2011. While in Libya, they developed and marketed an enzymatic product to rejuvenate oil wells and clean up sludge pits that earned $5 billion. They were in the midst of building a manufacturing facility when the revolution began. During the rioting and collapse of the Ghadafi government and the new rule of radical Islamic factions, the Moriarty’s and other foreigners attempting to leave on a rescue ship were captured and held by al-Qaeda type militias, then eventually released. The Tribes of Libya, a group opposed to the present divided regime in Libya, have recognized the Moriarty’s as their spokesperson in the West. They have produced a video of their ordeal – Escape from Al-Qaeda, which includes evidence of the US and its allies planning of a forced coup well in advance. Their website is LibyanWarTheTruth.com

It’s All About Food – Jeff & Joan Stanford and Elina Fuhrman – 03.15.16

Part I: Jeff & Joan Stanford, Dining At The Ravens
Jeff and Joan Stanford came west to Carmel, California to find careers in education, agreeing to help manage a small inn while looking for work. Jobs were scarce, the United States was in recession, and they found themselves enjoying their guests and rehabilitating the property they managed. The Inn allowed both of them to return to their former interests. Passionate about early education, Joan trained as a Montessori teacher and received her MA in psychology, specializing in Art Therapy, at Sonoma State University. Today she is a registered art therapist, collagist, and educator. Jeff became vegetarian as a first step to honor all life, not only the lives of his family, friends, and pets. He and Joan sought to create an inn that sat softly upon the earth. They created one of the first “green” bed and breakfast inns without realizing they were doing so. Understanding that their Inn was a destination, Jeff and Joan wanted to provide the highest quality food to their guests, which Jeff began cooking in the early 1990s. The restaurant followed their philosophy serving a whole food, plant based dishes designed to rival the cuisine found at the highest rated restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Part II: Elina Fuhrman, Soupelina
Elina Fuhrman is the founder and chef of Soupelina. She has written for the New York Times, In Style, and many other publications. She lives in Southern California with her family. Her new book is Soupelina’s Soup Cleanse: Plant-Based Soups and Broths to Heal Your Body, Calm Your Mind, and Transform Your Life.

Infectious Myth – Blogging Paxil Hell with Bob Fiddaman – 03.15.16

David interviews Bob Fiddaman, a survivor of a Paxil (called Seroxat in the UK, where he lives) prescription. He talks about why he was persuaded to ignore his less than ideal life situation and accept a medical diagnosis, and how Paxil put him in a state where he didn’t care about anything. When he decided he’d had enough, he discovered that withdrawal was hell. Afterwards, instead of walking away, he set up a blog (http://fiddaman.blogspot.com) where he has tackled the manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline, and other manufacturers of similar drugs, with humor, for about 10 years. Finally he describes a British lawsuit over the addictive nature of this SSRI anti-depressant.

Bob’s blog, and links to news items, can be found at: http://theinfectiousmyth.com/PRN-TIM/93.php

Leid Stories – Election 2016: Super Tuesday to Further Narrow Both Field and Focus – 03.15.16

It’s Super Tuesday (the third for this election cycle), and Democratic and Republican presidential candidates are in make-or-break primaries in delegate-rich Florida, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina. Results by the end of the day more than likely will cause a whittling of the GOP’s four-man slate, and on the Democratic side, a locked lead on being the nominee. Leid Stories continues yesterday’s discussion on what this all means to and for the rest of us.
