Leid Stories—It’s Way Past Time to Compel Trump to Obey the Law—04.19.18

When Defense Secretary James Mattis advised President Donald Trump to seek congressional approval before ordering the April 13 military strikes on alleged chemical weapons production sites in Syria, his concerns were summarily dismissed. Mattis tried to tell the president that the War Powers Act (also known as the War Powers Resolution of 1973) obligated a president to apprise Congress (the people) …

Leid Stories—Trump and The Washington Circus: What Are Our Options? (Part 2)—04.18.18

Way more callers than time yesterday, so, as promised, we return to the topic to hear their views. Six days ago, U.S., French and British forces jointly conducted air strikes in war-torn Syria, supposedly to “cripple its chemical-weapons program.” The United States and its allies have said that President Bashar al-Assad is using chemical weapons consistently to attack and wipe …

Leid Stories—Make No Mistake, We’re Still on the Brink of War—04.16.18

At an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Saturday, Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, proudly relayed a message from President Donald Trump: U.S., British and French forces earlier that morning had launched airstrikes that “crippled Syria’s chemical-weapons program,” and the U.S was “locked and loaded” to strike again. Leid Stories—Waving False Flags In Syria; Will U.N. Do A Bait and Switch in Haiti?—04.18.17

The White House has said that President Donald Trump’s April 6 cruise-missile airstrikes on a Syrian airbase and other military installations was in retaliation for a chemical-weapons attack by President Bashar al-Assad on his own people in Khan Sheikhoun, a town under the control of rebels battling his regime. Ninety people were killed and 500 injured in the Khan Sheikhoun chemical-weapons attack.

NEW SHOW ALERT: The Conspiracy Guy – 04.12.17

The Conspiracy Guy #20: The cruise missile attack in Syria has turned the Trump administration into the laughing stock of the world. Assad surrendered his stock of chemical weapons after an earlier “false flag” attack in 2013, when Russia produced a 50-page dossier proving that it had been done by the rebels, not by the government of Syrian, and negotiated the …

Leid Stories—Trump’s Major Supporters Worry He’s A Captive President—04.12.17

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s attempt at shuttle diplomacy with Russia to salvage a pre-U.S.-bombing-in-Syria thaw in relations has failed. Fresh from talks with G7 nations in Lucca, Italy—where Tillerson was unable to deliver “clarity” about current and future U.S. policy in Syria—the U.S.’s top diplomatic envoy came into a blistering critique of the United States by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about recent Trump administration actions and statements that Lavrov said have eroded trust in working with the United States “across the whole spectrum of bilateral and multilateral affairs.”

The rapid downward spiral in U.S.-Russia relations mirrors an open breach at home between Trump and his political base—including some of his staunchest supporters—who believe their erstwhile hero has been “captured” by a cabal of military-globalist “advisers,” and, being himself politically naïve, is being manipulated into spheres and issues he had no intention of getting in involved in.
